BIO
Coming into existence in the Midwest, Justin grew up as many kids do: wrestling with siblings, building forts, playing video games, watching science programming on PBS and tromping through the woods. Sport and outdoor activities have always been prevalent throughout his life. Family vacations were often spent backpacking or skiing and, while in high school, he discovered the joys of bounding down snowy mountains at high velocities with a board attached to his feet. Soccer, however, has always been a primary focus in Justin’s life. Many people have called Justin a runner, though he would disagree based on semantics. He prefers soccer player: with soccer just happening to be a sport that involves a lot of running, something Justin is also good at. Justin has never long parted from soccer and currently plays with two local adult coed teams and manages one.
Since his childhood beginnings in Iowa, he has moved progressively westward, touching down in Sun Valley, Idaho and Walla Walla, Washington along the way. When he finally reached Seattle and the west coast, heading north seemed the next sensible thing to do. In 2002, Justin moved to Bellingham for graduate school at WWU and has yet to find reason to leave.
Justin always enjoys new challenges and is curious about most anything. He enjoys getting his paws dirty with a little bit of everything. It is this trait that draws Justin to JoGo and Cross-Fit. He shares their general vision of creating “renaissance” athletes capable of performing well in a wide variety of activities.
